Fall Open Studios at the Arlington Arts Center

Have you ever wondered what happens on the upper level of the Arlington Arts Center? Here's your chance to find out! On Sunday, October 18 from 12-3 pm we will host our annual Fall Open Studios. On a day we are usually closed to the public, the Arlington Arts Center will open its doors to give the community a chance to see our artists at work. Anyone and everyone is welcome to check out the studios, discuss contemporary arts and the creative process, or just see the work of emerging artists in our area while enjoying Fall treats like cider and doughnuts.

Mark Planisek

The Arlington Arts Center is saddened by the death of local artist Mark Planisek on Wednesday, June 24.

Mark's piece "16th and K Street NW" is included in the DCAC Sparkplug group exhibition currently in our Jenkins Gallery.

The reception for this exhibition was Friday, June 19. Mark was present at the opening and spent the evening with friends and fans, being his usual warm, welcoming, and enthusiastic self. Several hours after leaving the AAC, Mark suffered a severe head injury in a tragic accident in the nearby Clarendon neighborhood.

PARADOX NOW! opens this Friday, June 19th, 6-9pm

Paradox card

PARADOX NOW! presents eight contemporary artists who view history as a fluid dynamic, in dialogue with and affected by the present, and subject to revision.
